It's time again for a new blog post--this time another Hot Off the Hook, also my first blog since my new logo, thank you
Josh!
I feel like I have been working on so much for than just the two items, but this is what has come off my hooks in the last week.
First up is an infinity scarf that was a custom order for someone across the border in Canada. I always tend to get scarf orders early and most of the time they are from Canada--I wish I could only enjoy a scarf early too! This one is grey with beautiful black buttons instead of the first one I made, a bone color
scarf with wooden buttons.
This
scarf is always fun to make and almost the point that I could do it in my sleep. I added the buttons on during the actual crochet process, which helps with keeping the buttons much more secure than sewing them on post crochet. I had actually bought these buttons last year and they have been sitting in my button box ever since as I didn't know what to do with them. When this customer said she wanted a grey scarf with buttons, I was so excited to finally be able to use these buttons. I was also able to finally use my new H Clover Hook--seriously, my favorite crochet hooks ever!
Then it's the ever cute football beanie as part of a
diaper cover set. The first one I did had precious flowers on it for one my favorite little girls. I was able to then make this new beanie for a sorority sister of mine's sister. I think it was the fastest I did the set before--started on a Wednesday and had it in the mail on Saturday. It's fun to make and it has helped me take the edge off of wanting football season to already be here (10 days and counting!). I had to adapt the football beanie pattern from a sock monkey pattern I have because I wanted the earflaps and figured I could figure out the lace and line spacing-I think it turned out pretty good! I had to use a J hook for the beanie and an I hook for the diaper cover-and you guessed it, I used my Clover hooks!
I hope you have enjoyed this edition of Hot Off the Hook--leave me a comment on what you want to see next!
